Case Study 5 – Online innovation 2018-07-06T18:56:50+01:00

Early stage
web-based
entrepreneurial solution
in niche market

Company:

A Start Up business that identified an opportunity to develop a more user-friendly and accessible channel in the childcare recruitment market that offered flexibility in the job search and placement process to premium childcare providers, parents and agencies.

Problem:

Need to develop an integrated offline-online recruitment service which offered one of the first fully searchable databases in the childcare sector.
Technology did not exist at that time as an ‘off the shelf’ solution for searchable databases

Action:

Local ambitious web development and coding team identified and approached to construct site.
Marketing collateral developed to support communications to offline agencies and third party group.
Funding proposals prepared for presentation to local Business Angel networks and private investors.
Suitable offline nationwide agencies identified as partners and signed on a licensed arrangement once audited (18 in total) to provide pre-screening and security checking service, prior to uploading candidates to database.
Secured the support of professional body and was active in successfully lobbying Parliament to change rules on denominations of qualified/unqualified childcarers.

Outputs & Results:

Business launched on time, with 250 qualified childcarers in the database and 50 members (parents) within 6 months.
60 colleges supported database
65% UK coverage by agency partners.
First agency to be awarded CRB accreditation.
